Phenylbutazone is used for the relief of inflammatory conditions associated with the musculoskeletal system in horses.
Use with caution in horses who have history of drug allergy; in the treatment of inflammatory conditions associated with infections, anti-infective therapy should be used at the same time; not for use in horses intended for food.
For horses only: orally 1 to 2 tablets per 500 lbs of body weight not to exceed 4 g per day; Use high dose for the first 48 hours, then gradually reduce to a maintenance dose.

Written prescriptions must include the veterinarian's license number, telephone number, and address. Federal (U.S.A.) law restricts the use of Rx drugs to use by, or on the order of a licensed veterinarian.
