Prascend is the only FDA-approved treatment available to manage PPID in horses. FDA-approval demonstrates the product has met the safety and efficacy requirements to obtain an FDA approval. Decreased appetite was the most common adverse reaction reported in the study.

My 28yo OTTB was diagnosed earlier this year with "early Cushings" (a rating of 33 with anything over 30 being in the Cushings range). I began treating him with Prascend and he has lost all symptoms of Cushings, based mainly on the looks and condition of his coat. He can be fussy about medications by mouth, but he eats the carrot pocket with the pill inside without issue.
